Spend some time with us and enjoy Lincolnshire's Halcyon experience. Located in open countryside in the lovely village of Muckton, The Old Rectory offers you something very special. Our village is on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds between the beautiful Tennyson Country and the golden sands of the East Coast, making it the ideal location from which to explore the many local attractions.
The Old Rectory, a late Georgian house originally home to the rector of Muckton and nearby Burwell, is set in three acres of grounds in a beautiful peaceful area of un-spoilt Lincolnshire. We aim to provide a quiet relaxed setting for guests who may be on business, visiting relatives or who simply want to get away from it all for a few days.
The house is approached by a sweeping gravel drive bordered with lawns and mature herbaceous borders. There is a large secluded rear garden; a quiet place to unwind and relax. The guest sitting room has a log fire and television.
The quiet village of Muckton on the edge of the Wolds is perfectly placed as a home base for exploring Tennyson country. The magnificent Lincolnshire coastline is on our doorstep. There you will find mile upon mile of quiet sandy beaches and also with the bustling resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe.
Good food and entertainment abounds in the historic market towns like Louth, Alford and Horncastle. There is a wealth of places to visit, from Castles and water mills, to Cadwell Park motor racing circuit and Manby Showground. For those of a gentler sporting disposition, Market Rasen Racecourse is a short drive away. The area is perfect for Cycling, Rambling (The Viking Way) and Horse Riding. Short stay livery can be arranged with the family run stables just down the lane.
Breakfast times are flexible and we are happy to accommodate those requiring an early start to their day. We can also provide lock up facilities for bicycles if you are on a cycling holiday
